What Customers Say About CoreOne Insurance Agency

My husband and I were eligible for Medicare at the end of last year but my husband was still working so we did not know what we needed to do.  We called Kyle at CoreOne and he took us through the maze of rules for Medicare and we were eventually able to determine that staying on his work insurance plan was the way to go.  They did not try to get us to take Medicare right away which they easily could have convinced us to do.  They even offered a yearly review while my husband continues to work to make sure that nothing changes and that Medicare doesn’t become a better option.  We were very lucky to have talked to CoreOne and I recommend to anyone coming up on their Medicare eligibility to call them.  I know we will be calling when my husband finally does retire and we have to get onto Medicare.

Kathy

I see all of these TV and hear the radio ads saying how great Medicare Advantage plans are.  When I became eligible for Medicare, I called a random agent and he just tried selling me a Medicare Advantage plan.  He didn’t tell me about any other type of plan.  I was a little put off so I called around and ended up speaking with Kyle and Tony at CoreOne Insurance.  They plainly showed me ALL of my options which included Medicare Supplement plans AND Medicare Advantage plans, told me exactly how each plan works, and showed me quotes from a lot of different companies and I was able to make a very informed decision.  I am very happy with my Medicare supplement plan.  I highly recommend that you contact CoreOne Insurance if you are about to become eligible for Medicare.

Frank

When my wife got onto medicare, I was not old enough to enroll.  Kyle at CoreOne was able to help my wife obtain her Medicare insurance and he was able to show me all of my health insurance options through Pennie.  He was able to get me a plan for just under $50 per month!!

Health Insurance for people 65 or older, people under 65 with certain disabilities and for people any age with End-Stage Renal Disease

How is Medicare structured?

Medicare is made up of 4 parts: Part A (Hospital Insurance), Part B (Medical Insurance), Part C (Medicare Advantage) and Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage).

What is the best Medicare Supplement Plan?

The best plan is the plan that fits your coverage needs and budget. From a coverage perspective, typically Plan F & Plan G are the most comprehensive Medicare supplement plans.

How do Medicare Supplement Plans work?

Medicare Supplement plans provide you with additional coverage in exchange for monthly premiums. Choosing the right plan carefully each year is important.

The average cost of a Medicare plan starts at around $150 per month and goes up from there. More importantly than cost, find the plan that suits your situation appropriately.

What is the differece between Medicare Supplement Plans and Medigap?

When can I sign up?

Initial Enrollment Period: You can sign up when you are first eligible for Part A and/or B.  This is a 7-month period that begins 3 months before the month you turn 65, includes the month you turn 65, and ends 3 months after the month you turn 65.  Be aware that you will have a delayed effective date of coverage if you wait until the month you turn 65 or later to sign up.

Ø  General Enrollment Period: If you did not sign up for Part A and/or B when you were first eligible, you can sign up between January 1 and March 31st every year.  Your coverage would begin on July 1.  You may have to pay a higher premium for late enrollment.

Ø  Special Enrollment Period:  You can sign up using a Special Enrollment Period only under specific circumstances (I.E. Retiring and therefore losing employer sponsored coverage.)

Do I have to actively sign up?

Most people already getting benefits from Social Security or the Railroad Retirement Board will automatically be signed up for Medicare Part A and B.

Those not collecting benefits can sign up online before their 65th birthday month or at their local Social Security office during or after their 65th birthday month.

How much will I pay for original Medicare and what are my out of pocket costs?
  • Part A is premium-free for most people (specific rules apply).  Part A has a deductible of $1,600 in 2023 and a cost-share depending on how many days are spent in the hospital.
  •  Most people will pay $164.90 each month for Part B.
  • Part B has a $226 deductible, and you are responsible for 20% coinsurance thereafter with no out-of-pocket limit.
I still have health insurance through an employer or spouse. Do I need to sign up for Medicare?

Ø  If you are actively working and insured through that employment, you might not have to sign up for Part A and B.  It depends on whether your employment insurance stays as the primary payer or becomes the secondary payer once you turn 65.  Give me a call to discuss your specific situation here.  It might be advantageous from a cost perspective to drop your employer coverage and sign up for Medicare Part A and B and a plan that supplements it.  I can show you the cost review to help make this an easy decision.
